Evanescence's Fallen is the first album in years to have totally blown me away.

I cannot remember when was the last time that I listened to a whole record, from end to end, many times over in one go.

Initially it sounds all the same. First time I listened to it, I dismissed it outright.

Now it sounds so different, it grows on you.

The flight has finally begun.

I am leaving three years of hard work behind me.

Teetering on the edge, I have known for a while that the last keg of adrenalin is almost bone dry.

Are there any realistic limits to improvement?

Mouse fishes out on me when the VFAT modules work, VFAT fishes out when mouse works, when both work ALSA remains as a major pain in the ass. But X with Gnome 2 runs smoother than the most expensive vodka. Now to get the new modutils to make the "QM_MODULES not supported" error disappear. Need to make the NVIDIA driver run too, not that I have seen any spectacular speed bumps after chucking the vanilla "nv" Xfree.

Doh. Test 5 is out already.

The only thing chaste about me is doubt. Documenting these final days of departure from cold comfort and familiarity, onward proceeds the flight towards a strange new shore, and the bilious belly of the beast.

Now that it is almost here, there is nothing to rejoice, no celebration. I have not even told many. It would change their lives more than it would change mine. I might be wrong too. Only constant: things will change.

I'd believe in it, only when, in a few days, it will be in my hands. Days of uncertainty would follow riding the downward spiral of the highway of ghosts behind the curtain of the famous smile.
